Packing Idea

Pack a couple dryer sheets in your luggage. This way when the TSA's open you bag it will smell fresh. Also when you pack your dirty clothes they do not smell as bad.

Cell phones on planes?

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/flights/2008-04-08-cellphones-airlines-europe_N.htm

USA Today did an artice on how Europe is allowing cell phones in flight. I would not like someone talking next to me the enite flight on my cell phone while I am trying to get work done or take a nap. I hope this does not get passed in the US.

Packing Folders

One way to pack your clothes so they don't wrinkle. Many shirts and pants will fit into one folder.

Do not disturb

When you leave your hotel room and you do not want people to know you left, you can put up your do not disturb sign.

(Not a good idea if you want your room cleaned though)

Travel Bag

For Christmas I got this great bathroom organizer for traveling from LL Bean. I think it is great to travel with for planes as well as weekend trips.

Here is a pic and here is a link. I have the medium size one.

Shutterfly

I had an amazing time on the cruise I took with George, Mike and Amanda. Shutterfly is a great way to show others your pictures online and then you can print it out if you like.

Bed Bugs

Good Night. Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite. They are real!!

Tip: Do not put your luggage on your bed. It may contain bed bugs from traveling.

You may also look at the mattress seams and mattress tag for bed bugs.

What happens to your checked luggage?

Connecting flights the luggage should make it to your final destination. You do not have to pick it up and carry it there.

Lost Luggage

What happens when your luggage actually gets lost? I can speak from experience on this subject. The first think you should do is go to the baggage counter for your airline right after you get off the flight where you lost your luggage.

They will ask for what your luggage looked like and want to have your luggage id number which they give you when you check your bags. Remember to keep this with you. You will also need to identify how many and what your bag looks like. They will give you a phone number and web site where you can view if they have found your luggage.

Some airlines may give you extra necessities such as shampoo and conditioner free of change.

If they find your lost luggage they will deliver it to your where ever you are staying at any time of the day or night. If they do not find your luggage in a certain amount of time you will need to fill out a lost luggage form and mail or fax it in. I was told that it would work better if it was faxed. A few weeks later you will receive confirmation about your lost luggage and what they are going to do to reimburse you. US Air paid for my luggage and contents as well as gave me percentages off of a future travel date.
